Several 7th and 8th grade students volunteered for some manual trail maintenance labor. We focused on rebuilding places on the trail where erosion had negatively impacted the trail. What a great way to give back to an amazing Ridge to Rivers Trail System!

Mr. Wakild -- Math
We are starting the second half of our linear algebra unit, after taking the summative last Thursday. Monday, we took problems from a context and modeled them using tables, graphs, and equations. Tuesday, we solved for the slope of an equation two different ways: by calculating rise over run on a graph and by using the formula
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1). On Wednesday, we will practice graphing a linear equation in the slope-intercept form. On Thursday, we will practice all these skills together to solve problems in a real-world format. See the notes and independent practice below.
Monday - Practice
Wednesday - Practice
Mr. Mercer - Science
- Develop models to describe the atomic composition of extended structures.
- Develop a model that predicts and describes changes in particle motion, temperature, and state of a pure substance when thermal energy is added or removed.
Essential Question: What happens to substances when they change state?

Visual Art with Ms. Newstadt & Mrs. Rogerson (Amazing BSU Student Teacher)!
Students continue working with the Elements and Principles of Design via preparation for and attendance on a wonderful field trip to the Boise Art Museum, where we specifically looked at sculptures by contemporary artist Paul Vexler.
We are accepting both donations and temporary loans in the Sage Middle School Art Room for upcoming activities for Los Dias de Los Muertos (Days of the Dead). Please collect and donate the following items if you have them lying around the house:
- aluminum foil
- liquid starch
